The red-hot Texas Rangers will continue their MLB betting series against the
Los Angeles Angels at home on Wednesday night, and they'll pin their hopes on
starting pitcher Derek Holland to grab them a win in the
matchup. Holland (8-4, 4.32 ERA) is coming off back-to-back shutout performances against the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics, giving up just nine hits while fanning 15 batters over those 18 innings of work. The left-hander pitched against Los Angeles back on May 14 at home, allowing
two runs on six hits over his six innings of work in that game. Holland picked
up a no-decision in that contest, which Texas ended up losing 3-2. Overall the Rangers are 5-5 over Holland's last 10 trips to the mound. Dan Haren (10-6, 2.75 ERA) will be Holland's opposition on
Wednesday night, and he had a four-game winning streak busted up last time out
against the Athletics when he allowed four runs on 10 hits over his 6 1-3
innings pitched. Righthander Haren had given up three or fewer runs in seven of his past eight
starts. Haren was Holland's opposition in that May 14 matchup, also picking up a
no-decision after giving up two runs (one earned) over 7 2-3 innings. With Texas on a roll lately it sits at 14/1 on the Bodog World Series odds
list, and at 7/1 to claim this year's American League pennant. Los Angeles is
back at 30/1 to win the World Series this season, and at 15/1 to take the AL
Pennant in October. Bodog offers up all
the latest MLB futures and the lines for the rest of the Rangers/Angels series
this week.
