Coming off a series loss to the Cincinnati Reds over the weekend, the St.
Louis Cardinals will head to the Big Apple to begin an MLB betting series
against the New York Mets on Tuesday night. Kyle Lohse (8-6, 3.32 ERA) will try to get the Cardinals back on track on Tuesday, but he's coming off back-to-back poor starts against the Diamondbacks and Rays — allowing 12 runs (11 earned) over those 12 innings of work. Right-hander Lohse has managed to keep his ERA respectable over the past two
months, but his team is just 1-5 over his past six trips to the mound. It's Dillon Gee (8-3, 3.76 ERA) on tap for the Mets on
Tuesday night, and after a quick start to the season he's fallen on hard times
of late. Right-hander Gee lost to the Dodgers last time out, giving up six runs (five
earned) on five hits over 5 2-3 innings of work, and he's just 1-3 over his past
four starts. New York had been 10-0 in Gee's first 10 starts this season. The Mets would need to go on a lengthy winning run to get some support on the
MLB futures, as they have to contend with both the Philadelphia Phillies and the
Atlanta Braves in the NL East. That has New York back at 60/1 odds to win the NL Pennant this season, and at
125/1 odds to claim the World Series title. The Cards, meanwhile, are at 20/1 on
the World Series board and at 10/1 on the NL Pennant futures heading into this
series. Bodog's MLB betting
page has the latest lines and totals for all of this week's
series.
