Even if you don't think Ryan Vogelsong deserves to be on
this year's NL All-Star team, you have to admit he carries some impressive
statistics into his Friday night MLB betting
matchup at home against the Mets. The Giants righthander is 6-1 with a sparkling 2.13 ERA on the season, and he's given up three or fewer earned runs in each of his last 10 starts. Vogelsong, though, had to settle for a no-decision against the Tigers in
Detroit last time out, surrendering three runs (two earned) on four hits over 6
2-3 innings of work that day. Overall San Francisco is 6-4 over Vogelsong's last 10 starts, but the
right-hander's control has been a concern lately – he's walked eight batters in
his last 11 2-3 innings. R.A. Dickey (4-7, 3.68 ERA) is coming off a no-decision as
well, and he deserved better after holding the Yankees to just one run on two
hits over five innings of work. The Mets have picked up the win in each of
Dickey's last three starts, although they were just 2-5 in his previous seven
outings. Right-hander Dickey faced the Giants at home back on May 3, getting knocked
around for six runs on seven hits over his six innings pitched. Back over the .500 mark on the season, the Mets nevertheless are way back at
125/1 odds to win
the World Series this fall. New York is also at 60/1 odds at claim this
year's NL Pennant. The Giants sit at 16/1 on the World Series
futures list and at 7/1 on the NL Pennant chart as we head into the All-Star
Break. Fresh odds are always available at Bodog. Get all your MLB odds at
