Getting the ball for the Brewers on Wednesday night will be left-hander Chris Narveson (6-6, 4.74 ERA), who has pitched Milwaukee to a win in seven of his last 10 starts.

Narveson, though, was tagged with a loss in his most recent start, giving up three runs on five hits over six innings of work against the Rockies in Colorado. He walked three batters and fanned five in that contest.

Joe Saunders (6-8, 3.89 ERA) is the Diamondbacks' probable starter for Wednesday, and he's coming off a loss as well – four runs (three earned) on five hits over six innings of work against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Left-hander Saunders is 6-3 with a no-decision over his past 10 trips to the mound, allowing three or fewer runs in eight of those contests.

The Diamondbacks have been asserting themselves in the National League's wild card race lately, although they're having trouble gaining ground on the San Francisco Giants in the NL West division standings.

That has the Diamondbacks at a middling 40/1 odds at Bodog to win the World Series this season, and at 16/1 to slip into the playoffs and win the NL Pennant in October.

For the Brewers the road to the playoffs is even more crowded, as they contend with the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, and Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central division race. Milwaukee is at 15/1 on the World Series odds, though, thanks to public support, and they're at 15/2 to claim the NL pennant.
