Three weeks ago, the Seattle
Mariners were 43-43 and actually still in the American League West race at
just 2.5 games back. Now? They have lost an epic 16 games in a row and are 15.5
games behind first-place Texas in the division. Things don’t look good for
Seattle at the Yankees on Tuesday night as the M’s are huge +265 Bodog MLB betting underdogs against New York ace CC
Sabathia.
Seattle didn’t put up much of a fight on Monday night in the Bronx, falling
10-3. Seattle already has past the franchise record of 14 losses in a row. The
only longer single-season losing streak in the past 15 years is 19 games by the
2005 Kansas City Royals. A loss tonight, and the Mariners pull within four games
of the Baltimore Orioles' AL record of 21 consecutive defeats, set in 1988. The
1961 Philadelphia Phillies hold the modern record for consecutive losses with
23. Seattle’s pitchers have allowed an average of more than seven runs a game in
the past eight of this skid. They’ve allowed at least 10 runs three times. Tonight the M’s have to deal with Sabathia (14-5, 2.62). Sabathia had his
seven-game winning streak snapped against James Shields and the
Rays on Thursday, but he still dominated, giving up just two runs in eight
innings. The lefty is now 11-2 with a 2.12 ERA since May 19. Seattle is hitting
only .214 against left-handed starters this year. The Mariners start
Doug Fister (3-11, 3.30). He has received just 25 runs of
support in the 15 games Seattle has lost when he starts. Get the best Mariners-Yankees props now at Bodog
