Righthander Sanchez (3-1, 3.02 ERA) gave up just three runs on six hits over seven innings of work against the Rays last time out, but he was stuck with a no-decision in that Florida win.

Sanchez's previous two starts were both against the Nationals, and he won both of those games by allowing no runs on five hits over 15 innings of work while fanning 20.

Ryan Vogelsong (3-0, 1.93 ERA) will try to avoid the loss column once again on Thursday as he takes the hill for the Giants at AT&T Park.

Righthander Vogelsong is 2-0 with a no-decision in his past three starts – which came against the A's, Cubs, and Rockies – giving up just one unearned run on 12 hits over those 18 1-3 innings of work.

San Francisco is 5-0 in Vogelsong's five starts this season – his first starts since 2004 when he was a member of the Pirates. Vogelsong went 6-13 that year with a 6.50 ERA.

The Giants and Marlins are both playoff contenders two months into the regular season, with San Francisco holding down the top spot in the NL West standings and Florida setting the pace in the NL Wild Card race.

Oddsmakers at Bodog have the Giants at 13/2 odds to win the NL Pennant this season, and they're at 12/1 to make it back-to-back World Series titles. The Marlins sit at 12/1 odds to claim the NL Pennant, and at 25/1 odds to win the World Series.

The Marlins stay out west for the weekend with a series in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. The Giants will hit the road for a series against the Brewers in Milwaukee starting on Friday night.
