Bronson Arroyo (7-7, 5.49 ERA) will be tasked with silencing the Cards' bats on Wednesday, and he'll be looking to do a better job against them than he did against the Indians last time out.

Righthander Arroyo was pounded by the Tribe, surrendering eight runs on nine hits in just 4 2/3 innings of work, boosting his ERA from an ugly 5.01 to a hideous 5.49.

That outing put an end to Arroyo's three-game winning streak, and Cincinnati is 5-5 in his last 10 starts. Against the Cards at home back on May 13 Arroyo took a no-decision after allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits over six innings pitched.

Jake Westbrook (7-4, 4.92 ERA) heads to the hill for the Reds on Wednesday, and he's coming off a slick outing against the Rays in which he cruised to the win by giving up just two runs over seven shutout innings of work.

St. Louis has alternated wins and losses over Westbrook's last six starts, so that doesn't bode well for the team for Wednesday's contest. Righthander Westbrook faced the Reds on April 24 at home, tossing six shutout innings for the victory that day.

The Brewers are the trendy team to pick out of the NL Central on the futures market right now, but the Cardinals are right there with them in the division standings and sit at 20/1 on the World Series odds at Bodog. St. Louis is also at 20/1 to win the NL Pennant.
