With their prospects of catching the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East standings getting worse by the week, the Braves look like they'll have to settle for a Wild Card berth if they make the postseason this year.

That fact still has the Braves getting decent odds on the World Series futures board at the Bodog Sportsbook, where they sit at 12/1 to claim the championship this fall. Atlanta is also at 11/2 on the NL Pennant odds list.

The Nationals aren't as hopeless in the standings this season as they usually are at this time of year, but they're hopeless enough to be way back at 500/1 on the World Series odds board and at 200/1 to win the NL Pennant.

Washington will send Chien-Ming Wang (0-1, 9.00 ERA) to the mound on Wednesday, and he made an ugly season debut against the Mets at home last time out – six runs allowed (four earned) on eight hits in just four innings of work in a loss.

Righthander Wang has posted a 3.46 ERA over 13 career innings against the Braves.

Atlanta goes with Brandon Beachy (4-2, 3.27 ERA) on Wednesday, with the righthander coming off a victory over the Marlins in which he gave up just two hits over 7 1-3 shutout innings of work.

The Braves, though, had been tagged with the loss in each of Beachy's previous four outings, and they're just 4-6 over his last 10 trips to the mound. The righthander has a 3.60 ERA over five career innings of work against the Nationals.
