It’s a cross-country matchup of 2-0 teams on Saturday night as Syracuse
visits the L.A. Coliseum for the first time in 87 years when the Orange face
Southern Cal. The Trojans opened as 16.5-point favorites on Bodog’s NCAA football odds. USC is rather fortunate to be 2-0. The Trojans didn’t look very good in their opening 19-17 win over Minnesota. And then on Saturday, Matt Kalil blocked Utah's 41-yard field goal attempt on the final play and Torin Harris returned it for a touchdown that wasn't counted until two hours after the game ended in USC's 23-14 win. Starting running back Marc Tyler, who missed the opener due to suspension, rushed for 113 yards and a score vs. the Utes. WR
Robert Woods, who went crazy in the opener vs. the Gophers, had 102 yards on eight catches Saturday. He already has 25 catches on the year. But the Trojans were shut out on offense by Utah for the game’s final 24 minutes. Syracuse has played a cupcake schedule so far, beating Wake Forest in
overtime in its opener and then squeaking by FCS team Rhode Island 21-14 last
week. Ryan Nassib threw for a career-high 318 yards and three
touchdowns against the Rams. Still, the Orange are 2-0 for the first time since
1999 and looking to go 3-0 for the first time since 1991. This is Syracuse’s
first game in the state of California since 1968. USC owns 2-0 lead in the all-time series against the Orange, with the last
meeting coming in 1990, a 34-16 Trojan win at Giants Stadium. USC owns a
144-40-4 (.777) record at night, including 88-21-4 in the Coliseum. Get the best NCAA odds and props at the Web’s gaming leader!
