Big game in the Big Ten’s Legends Division on Saturday afternoon when No. 15 Michigan travels to Iowa, with the Wolverines opening as 4-point favorites on Bodog’s NCAA football odds.

There is a three-way tie atop the Legends with Michigan, Nebraska and Michigan State all at 3-1. The Wolverines and Cornhuskers still have to play, while MSU already beat Michigan and thus would hold a tiebreaker over U-M but lost to Nebraska. If the Wolverines win out, they would need the Spartans to lose at least once to claim a spot in the inaugural Big Ten Championship Game. A loss here likely all but kills U-M’s title hopes.

Michigan (7-1) enters off an easy 36-14 win over Purdue. Running back Fitzgerald Toussaint ran for a career-high 170 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Wolverines. He likely has earned a bigger role in the offense going forward. Denard Robinson, who generally is Michigan’s offense, rushed for 63 yards and a score but threw his 11th interception of the season, matching his total in all of 2010. One of Michigan’s best defensive players, safety Jordan Kovacs, missed the Purdue game with a knee injury. But Kovacs, who has 42 tackles and three interceptions, should play in this one.

There should be a four-way tie atop the Legends, but Iowa (5-3, 2-2) inexplicably lost last week to a terrible Minnesota team, 22-21, despite leading by 11 in the fourth quarter. It was Minnesota's first conference win. In fact, the Gophers hadn't come within 27 points of their other three Big Ten opponents, including a 58-0 loss to Michigan. Still, if the Hawkeyes win out, including games vs. Nebraska and Michigan State, they could find themselves in the Big Ten title game.

Iowa has won two in a row in this series and hasn’t lost at home to Michigan since 2005. Last year in Ann Arbor the Hawkeyes won 38-28 despite being outgained 522-383. Robinson rushed for 143 yards and two scores but left the game in the third quarter with a shoulder injury and didn’t return. U-M is just 1-6 ATS in its past seven road games. The road team has covered in four of the past five meetings in this series.
