It looks like a rather mediocre game on the NFL Network this Thursday night
when the 5-4 New York Jets face the 4-5 Denver Broncos, but it certainly has
playoff implications in the AFC, which is as wide open as it has ever been. The
Jets are 7-point favorites on Bodog’s NFL football odds with live betting

as the Patriots bombed New York on its own field, 37-16 — that New York could
only get 16 points against the NFL’s No. 32 defense is concerning. The Jets
defense had allowed only 38 total points in the winning streak but allowed its
most all season against Tom Brady and Co. Mark Sanchez
threw for 306 yards for the Jets but had a shaky game, getting sacked
five times, throwing two interceptions and calling a bad timeout late in the
first half that would eventually lead to a New England touchdown and a 13-9 lead
right before halftime. The loss means that the Jets would have to finish a game ahead of New England
in the AFC East since the Patriots swept the season series. That seems unlikely,
so it’s wild-card or bust for New York. And all four Jets losses have come to
AFC teams, and conference records are a crucial tiebreaker for a wild-card spot,
so a loss in Denver could be a crusher. Denver has won three of four since Tim Tebow took over as
the starting quarterback and is just a game out of first in the AFC West. A
wild-card is a pipe dream for this club, so it’s division title or bust. The
Broncos are now running the veer option under Tebow, which is only supposed to
work in college football. Last week Tebow was just 2-for-8 for 69 yards and a TD
but Denver beat Kansas City 17-10 behind 55 rushing attempts in one of the most
unusual game plans in recent NFL history. The Broncos know what they have in
Tebow – an inaccurate passer but good decision-maker and runner – and have
tailored their offense to him. The former Heisman winner still hasn’t completed
50 percent of his passes in a game this year. There are a few key injuries to note: Broncos RBs Willis McGahee
and Knowshon Moreno both left Sunday’s game. Moreno is
done for the year, while McGahee is questionable for Thursday’s game.
Lance Ball, who had 30 carries vs. the Chiefs, would start if
McGahee can’t go. Jets No. 2 RB LaDainian Tomlinson will sit
this one out with an injury, which means more time for Joe McKnight behind
starter Shonn Greene. Jets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home
record. Broncos are 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS win. Get all your NFL
