The Houston Cougars have bigger things than the Conference USA title game on their minds as the unbeaten Cougars have designs on getting an at-large big to a BCS bowl if they can win out. They shouldn’t have much trouble on Thursday night in a C-USA matchup with a bad Tulane team. Houston is a 34.5-point favorite on Bodog’s NCAA football odds.

The No. 11 Cougars (9-0, 5-0) actually don’t even have their C-USA division wrapped up yet as they are tied atop the West Division with Tulsa and play there in the regular-season finale. The Cougars are off to their best start in school history and are the highest they’ve been in the Associated Press poll since 1991. Houston has the nation’s No. 1 scoring and passing offense behind QB Case Keenum. On Saturday in a 56-13 win at UAB, Keenum was 39 of 44 passing for 407 yards and two touchdowns. He passed Hawaii’s Timmy Chang as the all-time NCAA passing yardage leader. Earlier in the year Keenum also set the total offense and passing touchdowns records.  He has passed for more than 400 yards in five games this season and has 34 TD passes to just three picks.

Tulane (2-8, 1-5) figures to get torched tonight as it is 111th in the nation in points allowed per game at 36.0. The Green Wave saw head coach Bob Toledo resign earlier this year — interim head coach Mark Hutson took over on Oct. 18. It hasn’t helped as Tulane has dropped seven games in a row and has allowed at 33 points in all of them. On Saturday the Green Wave were blasted by SMU, 45-24. This is their final home game of the season, where they are 1-4 this season. That win came against an FCS school.

UH has won eight straight games between these two teams, covering all of them, and won 42-23 at home last season vs. Tulane. Houston has covered its past six vs. teams with a losing record. Tulane is 1-11 ATS in its past 12 following an ATS win.
