Great SEC matchup this week in Tuscaloosa as No. 14 Arkansas brings one of the nation’s top offenses to face No. 3 Alabama and one of college football’s most dominating defenses. The Tide are 11-point favorites on Bodog’s NCAA football odds.

The Razorbacks (3-0) haven’t missed a beat so far this year despite losing star QB Ryan Mallett to the NFL and star running back Knile Davis to a season-ending injury in fall camp off last year’s Sugar Bowl team. The Hogs, behind QB Tyler Wilson, lead the SEC and are No. 8 in the nation in passing (346.7 ypg) and No. 8 nationally in points per game at 47.0. But take that with a grain of salt as few teams have played such an easy schedule so far, with Arkansas crushing Missouri State, New Mexico and Troy. This will be Arkansas’ first road game.

The Crimson Tide (3-0) have allowed only 18 points so far this season and at least have played one quality opponent in dominating Penn State in Happy Valley. Alabama’s defense is second in the nation in scoring, third in total defense (170 ypg) and fourth against the run (55.3 ypg). Because the Tide are still a bit iffy at QB, look for a steady diet of RB Trent Richardson. He already has run for eight touchdowns and is part of a formidable backfield with Eddie Lacy. Both had 160-plus yards against North Texas last week.

Last year in Fayetteville, the Hogs led Alabama 20-7 in the second half ibefore Alabama's running game took control and led the way to a 24-20 win. Arkansas ran for just 64 yards on 20 carries in the loss. Alabama has won 19 consecutive SEC openers. Since the start of 2009 season, Crimson Tide are 26-3 (13-1 at home) while yielding 12.3 points per game. Arkansas is just 3-15 against Top-10 teams since 2005.
