The University of Georgia can clinch a spot in its first SEC Championship Game since 2005 if the Bulldogs can beat a lousy Kentucky team on Saturday, with the host Dawgs as 31-point favorites on Bodog’s NCAA football odds.

Kentucky (4-6, 1-5) seems unlikely to put up much of a fight since its only win over a BCS conference team this season has come against the SEC’s only winless team, Mississippi. Last week the Wildcats were pounded 38-8 at Vanderbilt. Freshman QB Maxwell Smart made the first road start of his career and was 15-for-31 for 178 yards with a TD but was sacked four times. UK was held to 211 total yards and nine first downs. The Wildcats now must win both at Georgia and in their home finale against Tennessee to extend their school-record streak to a sixth straight bowl game.

Georgia (8-2, 6-1) has put to rest any rumors of coach Mark Richt’s job status with an eight-game winning streak. The Dawgs played their most impressive game of the season last week with a 45-7 win over then-No. 20 Auburn. QB Aaron Murray stayed red hot, throwing four TD passes by halftime. He has 27 TDs on the season and nine in the past two weeks. He broke the school mark of 25 set by Matthew Stafford in 2008 before he was picked No. 1 overall in the NFL draft. Georgia outgained Auburn a whopping 528-195.

If Georgia somehow loses, South Carolina would represent the East Division in the SEC title game for the second year in a row thanks to a Week 2 win over Georgia – the Dawgs’ last loss. Kentucky is 1-7 ATS in its past eight road games. UGA is 7-1 ATS in past eight as a favorite. Georgia is 24-4-2 at home all-time vs. Kentucky. The Dawgs beat UK 44-31 in Lexington last year.
