Remember when Florida-Tennessee used to be one of the marquee games of the
college football season? Unfortunately, the Vols haven’t been very relevant in
years, while the Gators sunk to 8-5 last season and relinquished the SEC East to
South Carolina. However, both clubs enter this important conference opener at
2-0 this season and with designs on the East crown. UF has opened as a 9-point
home favorite on Bodog’s NCAA football odds. Tennessee appears to have found itself a quarterback. Tyler Bray has been sensational in blowouts of Montana and Cincinnati, completing 51 of 65 passes for 698 yards and seven touchdowns. Receivers Da'Rick Rogers and Justin Hunter have combined for 31 receptions for 502 yards and five touchdowns. The Vols are averaging 43.5 points per game and are ninth in the nation in passing offense. But that UT offense clearly hasn’t seen anything like Florida yet. The No. 16
Gators are tops in the nation in scoring defense, having allowed only a field
goal so far this season in crushing Florida Atlanta and UAB. Of course those
schools don’t have anyone like Bray. Florida QB John Brantley
has been just OK so far, going 33-for-49 for 424 yards and a score with
two picks. The Gator offense has looked rather vanilla. UF does rank second in
the SEC in rushing, churning out 248.5 yards per game. RB Chris
Rainey has been the Gators’ best offensive player, rushing for 198
yards, posting 110 receiving yards and scoring four total touchdowns. Tennessee has lost 10 in row against ranked opponents on the road and six
straight to Florida. Get the best NCAA football odds and props all season at the Web's gaming
