No. 4 Boise State has had one of the most impressive performances so
far early in this college football season, with the Broncos spanking Georgia in
Week 1 at the Georgia Dome. But watch out for Friday night’s game as Boise State
faces a big-time danger at Toledo. BSU opened as a 20-point favorite on Bodog’s
NCAA football odds. Certainly the Rockets, one of the MAC favorites, got Boise State’s attention
this past Saturday. Toledo could have, and maybe should have, won at Ohio State.
The Rockets fell just 27-22 despite throwing one interception, having 102 yards
in penalties, missing a 45-yard field goal, mishandling the hold on a 50-yard
field-goal attempt and giving up a special-teams touchdown. They still scored
the most points by an Ohio school against Ohio State since 1909. The Rockets
drove from their own 28 and were 17 yards away from ending Ohio State's 43-0-1
run against in-state foes before a fourth-down incompletion ended things. Toledo has one of the nation’s top players in junior wide receiver
Eric Page. He caught 12 passes for 145 yards and two TDs
against OSU, had a kickoff return of 42 yards and threw for a two-point
conversion. Boise State will be highest-ranked UT opponent ever to visit the
Glass Bowl. The Broncos opened their season with a 35-21 victory over Georgia and the
game really wasn’t that close. Senior QB Kellen Moore, a
Heisman Trophy candidate, dominated the game, completing 28-of-34 passes for 261
yards and three touchdowns. Boise was off this past week. The Broncos beat
Toledo 57-14 in Idaho last season, forcing five Rockets turnovers. Get the best NCAA football odds and props at the Web’s gaming leader
