Coming off a dominating offensive performance to open their season last week, Florida International pays a visit to Louisville in Week 2 college football betting action on Thursday night (7:00 pm ET, ESPN).

The Golden Panthers (1-0 SU, 1-0 ATS) got two touchdowns and 94 rushing yards from senior RB Darriet Perry, plus another pair of scores and 77 yards along the ground from sophomore RB Kedrick Rhodes on their way to a lopsided 41-6 Week 1 rout of North Texas last Thursday.

All-purpose threat T.Y. Hilton was the offensive catalyst behind the FIU outburst, pulling in seven receptions for 132 yards – including a 60-yard touchdown strike from QB Wesley Carroll – and racking up 283 yards in total when combined with his output on kickoff returns, punt returns, and a pair of successful rushing plays. Carroll completed 16-of-22 passing attempts for 193 yards and zero interceptions.

Despite all that, Louisville (1-0 SU, 0-1 ATS) is currently listed as a 4-point home favorite on the college football betting lines to knock off FIU. The Cardinals opened with a 21-9 win over Murray State last week as QB Will Stein completed 17-of-32 passing attempts for 226 yards and two touchdowns (without an interception). Freshman WR DeVante Parker caught three passes for 55 yards including a 39-yard touchdown reception.

The Cardinals’ defense held Casey Brockman and the pass-happy Racers’ attack to 291 yards in total offense, but Louisville will have to tighten up even further against FIU as they were flagged for 10 penalties and lost three fumbles in the win.

Including the Cardinals, every one of the eight teams in the Big East won their opening game last week, while Florida International was the only one of nine Sun Belt schools to kick off its season with a victory.
