Engulfed in controversy, is Ohio State going to be a solid college
football betting option in the upcoming season? The Buckeyes went 12-1 last year, and won both the Big Ten championship and the Sugar Bowl. Or at least that's how you remember the Buckeyes' campaign. Last week Ohio State announced it was vacating those wins, presumably in an effort to appease the NCAA and avoid bigger punishment for its autographs-for-tattoos violations. The NCAA, though, will still be reviewing the case, and they could decide to
ban the Buckeyes from postseason play in the season(s) ahead. That would kill
their chances of paying off a 25/1 on the current Bodog odds to win
the 2012 BCS Championship. Even if the Buckeyes are allowed to play for the title in the upcoming
season, though, they'll still be doing it without head coach Jim
Tressel and quarterback Terrelle Pryor, both of whom
have left the program. Ohio State isn't the only college football program in the news for the wrong
reasons these days – Oregon is getting bad press for associating itself with a
talent scout under investigation by the NCAA, while West Virginia imposed
sanctions on itself for various rules violations. West Virginia, however, will just be losing one scholarship in the upcoming
season and will still be eligible for postseason play – so their 25/1 BCS
Championship odds remain intact. Oregon sits at 12/1 odds on the BCS
Championship board, and Ducks running back LaMichael James is
high on the Heisman
Trophy props board at 15/2. Check out the Bodog college football page for the latest lines and props on
