Ohio State had no trouble with another in-state MAC school last week in blanking Akron 42-0 – and that was with OSU missing eight key players due to suspension. Senior QB Joe Bauserman, Terrelle Pryor’s replacement and making his first collegiate start, finished with 195 total yards and four TDs. Freshman Braxton Miller played most of the second half at QB and coach Luke Fickell said both QBs would likely play similar minutes vs. the Rockets. The Buckeyes held Akron to five first down and 90 total yards. The Zips came closest to scoring when a 41-yard field goal just before the half went wide.

And Ohio State gets four suspended players back this week, with the two key ones being starting running back Jordan Hall and starting cornerback Corey Brown. Four other Buckeyes — running back Dan Herron, receiver DeVier Posey, left tackle Mike Adams and defensive lineman Soloman Thomas – remain suspended.

Toledo is a much better team than Akron and a club many think will compete for the MAC title. The Rockets had no trouble with FCS team New Hampshire last week in a 58-22 win. Toledo QB Austin Dantin threw for three TDs and RB Adonis Thomas had 115 yards and a TD on just nine carries.

This will be the third meeting between the two schools with OSU winning the last one 38-0 in Cleveland. Toledo has never scored against the Buckeyes, who are 17-0 all-time vs. MAC schools.
