The Oregon Ducks have won 13 straight Pac-12 Conference games. The closest the two-time conference champs have come to losing was last season against California. The Bears travel to Autzen Stadium for this week’s Thursday night national TV game looking for the big upset. But the Ducks are big favorites on Bodog’s NCAA football odds.

Both these teams were off Saturday, which probably benefits Cal because it’s would be next to impossible to prepare for the Ducks’ fast-paced attack on a quick turnaround week. After looking sloppy in their opening loss to LSU, Oregon is back to its dominating offensive self. Oregon is second nationally in scoring at 52 points per game (entering Week 5) and is No. 7 in total offense at 534 yards as it clicks off plays at a 7.57-yard average.

LaMichael James is the leading rusher in FBS at 613 yards (entering Week 5) and averages nearly a first down every carry: 9.43 yards. In Oregon’s last game, a 56-31 victory over Arizona, James set a school record with 288 yards rushing. With his touchdown runs of 12 and 19 yards, the speedy back has 43 scoring runs, breaking Derek Loville's school record of 42. All but one of Oregon’s touchdown drives lasted less than three minutes. That’s just ridiculous.

The Bears (3-1) enter off their first loss of the year, 31-23 at Washington. Cal QB Zach Maynard completed 23-of-43 passes for a career-high 349 yards and one touchdown. It was the first 300-yard game for a Cal quarterback since Kevin Riley threw for 351 yards at Arizona State on Oct. 31, 2009. Keenan Allen had 10 catches for 197 yards (most for a Bear since 2003) and a 90-yard TD reception, the longest pass play in school history. Cal has been good offensively this season, ranking in the Top 20 in the nation at 39.5 ppg. When the Bears don't score at least 30 points, their record under coach Jeff Tedford is 17-38.

Last season, no team held Oregon to fewer points than Cal did in November's 15-13 loss at Memorial Stadium. The Ducks’ offense managed a season-low 317 yards, 250.2 below their season average to that point. James was held to 91 yards on 29 carries. Cal's kicker Giorgio Tavecchio missed a 29-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that would have given Cal a 16-15 lead.
