Don't wager one dollar of your hard earned money on CFB until you read the college power rankings for this year. Early in the CFB season we have many teams playing outside there conference. Use the rankings below to make sure your money is not wasted. Below we will look at the big 6 conferences.
1. SEC - Obviously every one knows that this conference dominates in big games. The SEC is 7-2 in BCS bowl games the last 9 attempts. No reason that this years teams will not improve this mark. They have as many as four SEC teams that could find their way to the BCS, with Florida and Georgia at the top of the list. After the headliners, Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Ole Miss are all bound for potential bowl this winter.
2. BIG 12- With the rise of Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Tech have this conference knocking on the SEC's door. Of course the banner carriers for this conference will always be Oklahoma and Texas. Oklahoma is one of a few teams that have legitimate chance to play in the National Championship game. Most argue that this conference is very top heavy which is what holds it back from being the number one conference. The conference sports ten returning quarterbacks, which no other conference can match. Missouri could definitely be a sleeper this year to win it all. Don't be surprised at the end of this season if the BIG 12 has the best bowl record and maybe even a national champion.
3. PAC 10- After a disappointing season this conference looks to bounce back. Last year power rankings had this conference #1 what a disappointment. This year only one team looks poised to be highly ranked at the end of the year (USC). Oregon and Oregon State are solid teams, but neither are top 10 teams. Everyone else in the conference are big question marks. The only team that could really surprise everybody is Arizona State.
4. BIG 10- They are only this high because of one team Ohio State. Like it or not, the BCS Championship game could feature the Bucks once again. Wisconsin and Illinois are possible top 15 teams at the end of the year. Up to eight teams will get bowl bids this year but many of these teams will be underdogs in those bowls.
5. ACC- This league has the most high powered over rated coaches and programs than any conference in the country. Clemson is the only team that looking at the talent that can play and win a BCS game. Look for Miami and FSU to have a down year but play many young kids. Virginia Tech and Wake Forest will probably finish 2nd and 3rd in this conference but probably will not win in there bowl game. Very down year for once powerful conference.
6. BIG EAST- This conference simply does not have the horses of the other BCS conferences. WVU will be good again but don't expect another win this year in the BCS bowl game. After WVU none of others seem poised to have that surprising season.
