NBA Season Preview It’s hard to believe but the NBA will be tipping off in just a few short days. Here is a brief synopsis of the teams that will be making the most noise this year in the NBA and other teams ready to make a splash. Eastern Conference Miami Heat---The Miami Heat are the odds on favorite to repeat as NBA Champions and rightfully so. They boast the games most dominant player in Lebron James and have added sharp shooter Ray Allen in free agency. Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh are back and healthy and looking to help the Heat repeat. There is no doubt they will be a tough out for anybody in the league. Boston Celtics---The Celtics might be an aging team but they are still one of the best in the league. Rajon Rondo might just be the best point guard in the league. If he can develop a mid-range jumper consistently the Celtics will be tough to beat. The veteran presence of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce give the Celtics a never give up attitude to go along with their excellent defense. The free agent signing of Jason Terry will give the offense a boost and look for Avery Bradley to have a breakout season. New York Knicks---The Knicks are loaded with offensive talent with Carmelo Anthony and A’mare Stoudemire leading the way. The question with the Knicks the past few seasons has been whether or not they could play defense. With the additions of Jason Kidd and Marcus Camby to team up with Tyson Chandler the defense should no longer be an issue. If the Knicks can stay healthy they will be making things interesting in the Eastern Conference this year. Teams to watch: Philadelphia 76ers---The Sixers said goodbye to Andre Igudola but hello to 7 foot big man Andrew Bynum. If Bynum can stay healthy this young, exciting Sixers team will be giving the NBA something to talk about this year. Brooklyn Nets---Can the addition of Joe Johnson push the Nets into the playoff hunt? Chicago Bulls---When Derrick Rose returns from injury will it be enough to put the Bulls back to elite status? Western Conference Oklahoma City Thunder---Last years runners up look like they once again will be the team to beat in the West this year. Durant, Westbrook, and Harden are all young stars. If they can build on last years performance there is no reason they won’t be back in the NBA Finals this year. Los Angeles Lakers---The addition of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash will make the Lakers contenders once again. Kobe Bryant is the main man but if he can rest a bit more during the regular season he will be extra deadly come playoff time. A concern will be Howard’s back. If he can stay healthy than the Lakers will be giving the Thunder a run for Western supremacy. San Antonio Spurs---The Spurs might be old but they are still very good. Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli might be aging but they still know how to win. This team cannot be overlooked. They will once again be a force. Teams to Watch: Los Angeles Clippers---The exciting duo of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul will no doubt be making a lot of jaw dropping plays but they will also be leading their team to a lot of wins. The Clippers are no longer a joke in this league and want to prove they are the best team in LA. Denver Nuggets---The addition of Andre Igudola will make this promising team even better. Will it be enough to contend for a title? Memphis Grizzlies---The Grizzlies are a playoff team with players like Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph, and Marc Gasol. However, they still are a player or two away from becoming elite. Can they find what they need at the trade deadline? Chase Diamond
