Just because of who they are and that whole “America’s Team” moniker, the Dallas Cowboys get more hype than arguably any other team – especially when you consider that Jerry Jones’ club has won all of one playoff game since 1997.

Thus you would have to call the Cowboys the most disappointing team in the NFL last season. Jones was hoping to see his team play in the Super Bowl in its own stadium – that has never happened – but the Boys slipped to 6-10 and tied for last in the NFC East. Can Dallas rebound and contend in the NFC in 2011? Dallas is the second-favorite in the NFC East at +300 on Bodog’s NFL futures odds, 10/1 to win the NFC and 20/1 to win the Super Bowl.

The good news is Tony Romo is healthy. The QB went down with a season-ending broken collarbone in the team’s fifth game. Romo had been on pace for easily his best season. The team started the year 1-7 and dumped Coach Wade Phillips. Dallas improved greatly under interim coach Jason Garrett, which earned him the full-time job.

The Cowboys didn’t add a whole lot in free agency this offseason, missing out on star CB Nnamdi Asomugha, but did add a new defensive coordinator in Rob Ryan. The Cowboys ranked 23rd in total defense last year and surrendered 27.2 points per game, second-most in the NFL. Yet they return 10 of 11 starters, including a trio of Pro Bowlers in cornerback Terence Newman, linebacker DeMarcus Ware (last year's league sacks leader with 15½) and nose tackle Jay Ratliff.

The offense should be one of the best in the league despite losing Marion Barber and Roy Williams. But with the likes of Romo, Felix Jones, Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, this team will score as long is Romo is healthy. The offensive line is a bit of a question mark, however.
