Cleveland Indians vs. Baltimore Orioles (MLB) - 1:05 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Money Line: -233 Cleveland Indians Pick Title: 9 Star Every Dog Not Necessarily Has Their Day (WIN)
Tracking the Orioles since I was 5 has become a habit. But I've found that there's only a few AL teams who have been a thorn in their side @ Camden Yards since its inception in 92'. One of those teams is the Cleveland Indians. You can trace this way back to when Jim Thome was young. In fact, the Birds have only been successful once in 7 tussles with the AL Central. What's also of supreme interest is the team series' closer role. Baltimore has a putrid 2-12 record in Game 3's of a series while the Tribe is a mirror image @ a stellar 13-3. The O's are hitting a no-show .203 this season versus RHP & come into this closer limping without the services of Schoop, Trumbo & Mancini. I believe a good dog role doesn't apply here. My bottom line for this one points directly @ Corey Kluber. He's 4-0 on Sundays & has been ultra-sharp giving up just 5 ER's in just 4 starts. He's shown great command versus the patsies with a brilliant 18-4 record & is also a dominant 8-2 on the road. Speaking of roadies, he's also 4-0 his last 4 patsy meetings. The daggers for us have to be Kluber winning his last start @ Baltimore last June when he threw a 108-pitch complete game in a lopsided 12-0 Cleveland win. Add to it a road-killing 28-11 record away from Progressive Field & I firmly believe we have something brewing. Let's get ready & set to go to Camden Yards in Inner Harbor to play the CLEVELAND INDIANS as my 9 Star Every Dog Not Necessarily Has Their Day Play!

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees (MLB) - 1:05 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Money Line: -149 New York Yankees Pick Title: Mike's First MLB Play Of The Season (WIN)
We've gauged all MLB teams the last few weeks who are now starting to show some of their colors since their start. For this one, I strongly believe that Toronto is WAY too over-achieving without the services of Josh Donaldson & Troy Tulowitzki. They put Marcus Stroman on the hill whose mechanics have lookdd very shaky @ best. Yes, Stroman has had success overall with the Yankees. However, he's a perfect 0-4 his last 4 visits to Yankee Stadium. In his last 3 starts, he's had an ever-ballooning 7.98 ERA. It's also nice to see Jon Q Public heavily on the (13-6) Blue Jays here since we're not. Remember, these same Bronx Bombers are 4-1 off a loss, 24-8 @ home their last 32 & a lights-out 15-5 @ Yankee Stadium versus RHP. A BIG reason for this play is LHP Jordan Montgomery. I saw him pitch live several times over the past few seasons in the minors & he's looked nothing but sharp in most of those appearances. Montgomery seems to show up on the weekends as he's an excellent 4-1 on Saturdays. My bottom line says the Yanks are under-achieving @ (9-9) & we should see an inspired performance this afternoon. Look for production from the 2-3-4 holes of Judge, Stanton & Gregorius. The dagger for us here has to be HPU Will Little. While behind the dish, Little has now watched NY win 7 straight times heading into this divisional tilt. Let's go to Yankee Stadium to play the NEW YORK YANKEES as my First MLB Play Of The Season!
NOTES: Jumped off to another hot start in MLB. My first 2 MLB picks won by a combined 16-4 run advantage. Loved Kluber (should have pitched a shutout if he was smart) last night but still befuddled why he didn't pitch AROUND Machado since he was clearly the biggest threat left after 3 good hitters (Mancini, Trumbo & Schoop) were inactive. Since I grew up in baseball, it was a cardinal rule to NEVER let the BIG/HOT man beat you. As you see, taking time to gauge MLB the first 4-5 times around rotations does have advantages. Stay with us all season & enjoy my best sport (67%-#1 MLB capper in winning percentage last year) as we continue to strike like a cobra in bases.
