Aleksei Oleinik


Aleksei Oleinik began his career in 1996. Oleinik is a multiple-time Sambo champion who also specializes in Jiu Jitsu and grappling techniques.


He also won the Absolute division in a grappling tournament hosted by Eddie Alvarez and was in the inaugural Heavyweight tournament for Bellator in 2010.


Oleinik is the only fighter in UFC history to use the rare Sambo submission known as the Ezekiel choke to finish an opponent in the UFC. He's won with this move 12 times in his career.


The battle-tested Russian is 9-3 in the UFC, with back-to-back wins. Oleinik beat Maurice Green via submission in the second round at UFC 246 on January 18 and then had a split decision victory against Fabricio Werdum at UFC 249 on May 9.
