Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays (MLB) - 1:07 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Money Line: -162 Boston Red Sox Pick Title: Saturday 9 Star Owners' Play (WIN)
It looks like the so-called experts are all over LHP Francisco Liriano & the Blue Jays since he shut them out earlier in the season. Well boys, things are heating up a bit on the Red Sox side that includes the bats & a very solid bullpen. For those of you who know the foundation capping rule of (you can't over-react to 1 game) also know that Liriano (whose been up & down through June) has actually lost 4 of 7 versus Boston over the longer haul. Now let's throw BoSox LHP Chris Sale into the mix. The AL East Division leaders have won 6 of their last 7 with him as well as going a dominating 5-1 in divisional games where it counts. This one fits like a glove since the home team has struggled mightily in their own division going just 13-22. In addition, the Red Sox have also given their rotation some support (7-4 win yesterday) winning their last 4 of 5 @ this venue. Digging a little deeper, let's Compare how both teams bats have performed versus southpaws. Further examination reveals Boston having a major advantage in hitting LHP's to the tune of .278 versus Toronto's pedestrian .245. My bottom line points out that Sale comes in with more momentum. The Red Sox are highly motivated to take it to Liriano after their pitiful performance versus him earlier. Look for them to solve Liriano's slider (best pitch) & give Sale (looking for win #11) enough run support. There's no denying Sale's ownership of the "Men from Ontario" since he's mowed them down 5 consecutive times. The dagger for us has to be the Blue Jays' horrible record versus LHP coming into this fracas @ 6-13. I look for Boston to hold fast their grip on the AL East over New York & continue their winning ways up to the break next week. Let's jaunt up to the Rogers Centre in the province of Ontario to take the BOSTON RED SOX as my Saturday 9 Star Owners' Play!

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Los Angeles Angels (MLB) - 10:07 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Money Line: -205 Los Angeles Dodgers Pick Title: 9 Star Cross-Town Survivor (WIN)
Look for the Dodgers to even the score after getting edged late Wednesday. kershaw facing the Trout-less Angels has to be a gigantic plus. Motivations will be high but I give the skill level to the NL squad as Clayton Kershaw & his relief earn their pay once again. Let's trek to Anaheim to play the LOS ANGELES DODGERS as my 9 Star Cross-Town Survivor!

New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox (MLB) - 8:10 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Money Line: -119 New York Yankees Pick Title: 9 Star Line Value Play (WIN)
The New York Yankees despite a few injuries are still loaded with talent. Don't let lines fool you, this team is dangerous. Even though it appears the Bronx Bombers have cooled off, I expect things to gear toward status quo with long balls back on the list. NY have owned Humpdays' of late going 8-2 their last 10 as well as the Pale Hose who they've beaten 16 out of the last 23 in the series. Even though Tanaka's ERA may not show overall, he's been more than effective versus Chicago going 4-0 his last 4 & a perfect 7-0 against the AL Central. In addition, he's won his last 8 of 9 against losing teams on the road. On the flip side of the coin, the White Sox have lost their last series' closers & are a putrid 5-16 their last 21 mid-weekers. My bottom line points out how desperate Chicago is in finding better starters for their rotation. Tonight, I expect the Yankees to go long ball against rookie LHP Carlos Rodon who hasn't looked impressive of late posting a 10.06 ERA over his last 4 MINOR league starts. Let's go to Guaranteed Rate Field in Illinois to play the NEW YORK YANKEES as my 9 Star Line Value Play!

Oakland Athletics vs. Houston Astros (MLB) - 8:10 PM EDT Premium Pick
Pick: Money Line: -148 Houston Astros Pick Title: 9 Star Repeat Offender (LOSS)
The Oakland A's recorded their second sweep in the last 3 series against the Pale Hose of Chicago. There smack dab in repeat position taking on the Astros after a sweep. What did Houston proceed to do after taking on these same A's off a sweep? The Astros swept them just over a week ago. I look for the Stros' to repeat their dominance over a weak roadie with Oakland. Tonight's matchup looks like it will be nip & tuck heading to the final out. But what I see is a very effective Mike Fiers on the mound whose had an excellent command of pitches over his last 3 outings. My bottom line points to the Houston bats staying hot & giving Fiers enough breathing room to win it in the end. Let's go to Minute made park in the state of Texas to play the HOUSTON ASTROS as my 9 Star Repeat Offender!
NOTES: The new MLB system in use is 2nd to none in pounding out the highest percentage of winners. Staying focused & rolling with personnel changes are pivotal. It's also the time of year for gauging NCAAFB & NFL teams for sleepers as well as blue chippers that will radically change records come this fall. My 2017 MLB Overall Record is as follows: 29-9 -----76%-----going into July 2nd.
